Open Access Policy

1. Open Access Statement

Dottrina e Politica dei Trasporti Journal is a scientific journal in Area 12 – Legal Sciences, adopting an immediate Open Access model (gold open access), ensuring free, unrestricted, and permanent access to all published content.

The Journal operates in compliance with the quality and transparency criteria required by the ANVUR evaluation system and is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and in ERIH PLUS – European Reference Index for the Humanities and Social Sciences.

2.Access to content

All contributions published by the Journal — including scientific articles, essays, case notes, legislative commentaries, and Observatory contributions — are available online without any access restrictions.

Access to the content is not subject to:

  • mandatory registration
  • fees for readers
  • embargo periods

The contents may be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, and indexed, in accordance with the terms of the applicable license.

 

3. Copyright and Authors’ Rights

Authors retain copyright ownership of their published contributions. Upon acceptance of the manuscript, Authors grant the Journal a non-exclusive license to publish, disseminate online, and archive the work.

The Journal does not require the exclusive transfer of economic rights and fully recognizes and respects the moral rights of the Author, in accordance with applicable law and best practices in scholarly legal publishing.

4.Publication and Reuse License

Unless otherwise indicated, contributions are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, in compliance with DOAJ requirements.

This license permits the reuse, distribution, and adaptation of the content, including for commercial purposes, provided that proper attribution is given to the Author, the title of the contribution, and the Journal.

Any restrictions or alternative licenses are explicitly indicated in the individual contribution.

5. Archiving, Self-Archiving, and Preservation

The Journal allows and encourages the immediate self-archiving of the published version of contributions in institutional or disciplinary repositories, without any time restrictions.

The contents are preserved in digital format in accordance with the archiving policies of the relevant University and/or through systems that ensure long-term preservation, in line with the standards required by DOAJ and ERIH PLUS.

6. Publication Fees

The Journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs) or any other fees for the submission, review, or publication of manuscripts.

There are no costs for Authors or readers.

7. Editorial Process and Peer Review

The adoption of the Open Access model is independent of the scientific evaluation process. All contributions undergo an editorial review, and scientific articles are subject to peer review in accordance with the ANVUR standards for journals in Area 12.

The review procedures are guided by the principles of:

  • independence and impartiality
  • confidentiality
  • absence of conflicts of interest

Information regarding the editorial process is published clearly and transparently on the Journal’s website.

8.Publication Ethics

The Journal is guided by the principles of ethics and scientific integrity upheld by the legal academic community and adopts measures to prevent plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and other unethical practices.

Authors, reviewers, and editorial board members are required to adhere to the ethical guidelines established by the Journal.

9. Scientific and Institutional Objectives

Through its Open Access Policy, the Journal aims to:

  • promote the dissemination of legal research in the fields of transport law, mobility, and infrastructure;
  • foster dialogue between scholarship, case law, and administrative practice;
  • contribute to the development of an accessible and high-quality scientific culture, in line with national and international research evaluation standards.
